Full Name: Teresa Jane St. John
Nicknames: Reese, TJ, Johnny
Age; DOB: 45; 10 June 1964
Orientation/Status: Heterosexual; Single; Never married
Occupation: DJ for University of Chicago Radio (WHPK 88.5 FM); Professional blogger (Radio Free Reese)
AIM: radio free reese

Teresa Jane St. John was born the only child of Anthony (Tony) and Mary (Mimi) St. John of Santa Monica, California. Self-proclaimed hippies, Tony and Mimi had lived in a commune outside of San Fransisco for three years when they realized they'd be expanding their family in the winter of 1963. Deciding that he needed to find a real job, Tony moved himself and Mimi back to Santa Monica. Teresa was born in June of 1964, spending most of her young life in the California town.

Tony eventually opened his own record store and Mimi found work as a law clerk. Reese, on the other hand, suffered through the public school system. She never felt like she fit in, having been tutored by her mother before she ever started kindergarden. She was always ahead of the class, finding her peers ignorant and uninteresting.. and her teachers even more so. Eventually, Reese would convince her parents to allow her to be homeschool throughout high school, where she'd graduate early by two years. By sixteen, she was enrolled at UCLA, majoring in english. She would go on to do her graduate studies in creative writing at Northwestern.

Chicago was a new experience for Reese. While California (especially SoCal) was laid back, the midwest city was more her speed. She easily found people who appreciated her sarcastic, often snarky nature; people who quickly became friends. How Reese found herself doing radio seems to be a mystery to most. To be honest, it was an accident. She had walked into the wrong building one day, meaning to visit a friend at work. Instead, she found herself interviewing for an entry-level position at a small AM talk-radio station. It wasn't very glamorous, mostly answering phones and fetching lunch for DJ's. Reese would go on to work at several other stations in the Chicago area before she landed a gig with an independent talk radio station online. The popularity of the half-hour show Reese did twice a week was surprising. So when the University of Chicago offered her a job, she took it. Unfortunately, the U of Chicago job doesn't allow her to voice her opinions (or curse) on air, so that's where Radio Free Reese comes in.

Reese started the blog in 2004 when she became frustrated after the presidental election. Her commentary on US politics and personal opinions gained Reese a small cult following. This grew as the years passed, and she was eventually offered sponsorship from several companies. To date, RadioFreeReese.com receives close to a half-million visitors a day. Regular podcasts keep her numbers up, which is essential. After all, the site is her livelihood.

Single and approaching her mid-forties, Reese is content with her life. She has friends, her dog and legions of listeners and fans all over the world. What more could a woman want?
